A checkride inside two weeks is a number we’re proud of.
Take a Discovery Flight
A Discovery Flight is a real first lesson: you take the controls over Central Florida with a Certified Flight Instructor beside you the whole time.
You’ll fly with a person, not a company.
- :01Before you fly — Meet your instructor and walk around the airplane together.
- :02In the air — You take the controls over Central Florida.
- :03Back on the ramp — Debrief, questions, and a clear next step.
Fly with confidence.
Unlike large, impersonal flight factories where students are just a tally number, Legends treats you like family. Tailored instructor pairing, well-kept airplanes and owners you can actually reach.
Uncompromised airworthiness
With deep roots in aircraft maintenance, our airplanes get rigorous 100-hour inspections and preventative care. Safety is not a buzzword here — it is our promise.
One-on-one, start to finish
Every student is paired with an instructor matched to their goals and pace, following the Gleim syllabus — including 20 hours of one-on-one ground school for the Private Pilot.
Instructors who care
Senior flight instructors and seasoned aviators who genuinely care about your progress. And if you ever have an issue, you can reach the owners directly.
A family legacy since 1989
Three generations of aviators, a Super Cub for real tailwheel training, and Florida weather that means lots of flying days — with checkride waits typically under two weeks.
“From the start, everyone at Legends was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Everyone really went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience during my Private and Instrument ratings!”
From first lesson to tailwheel and spins.
Start with a Discovery Flight, then Private through CFI on the same field — with tailwheel in the Super Cub and spin training in-house in the 172s.

The questions every first-time student asks before they book.
01 Do I need any previous experience to start?
No. Most students start with zero experience, and your first step is a Discovery Flight, where an instructor walks you through everything before you take the controls.
02 What is a Discovery Flight?
A Discovery Flight is your first real lesson: after a short briefing you fly the airplane yourself, with a Certified Flight Instructor beside you on dual controls. It costs $99 in a two-seat trainer or $119 in a four-seat, and there is nothing to commit to afterward.
03 Is it safe?
Yes. Training aircraft like our Cessnas are among the most forgiving airplanes ever built, and your instructor sits beside you with a full set of controls on every lesson. Our airplanes get rigorous 100-hour inspections and preventative care, and your instructor makes the go/no-go call on weather.
04 How much does it cost to earn a Private Pilot License?
Our estimate is $9,725 at FAA minimums: 40 flight hours and 20 hours of one-on-one ground school, paid lesson by lesson with no lump sum. Most students need more than the minimum hours, so flying 2 to 3 times a week is the best way to keep the total down.
05 How do I get started?
Call (863) 937-8045 or send us your details and we will call you back. Most people start with a Discovery Flight — $99 in a two-seat trainer — so you can feel it for yourself before deciding anything.
